To install and set up Visual Studio Code (VS Code) on macOS, follow these steps:

Download VS Code: Go to the official Visual Studio Code website: https://code.visualstudio.com/ Click on the "Download for macOS" button to download the latest version of VS Code.

Install VS Code: After the download is complete, locate the downloaded DMG file (usually named something like "VSCode-darwin-stable.zip") and double-click on it to open the disk image.

Drag and drop the "Visual Studio Code" application into the "Applications" folder to install it on your macOS system.

Open VS Code: After installing, you can open VS Code from the "Applications" folder or by searching for "Visual Studio Code" in Spotlight (press Command + Space and start typing "Visual Studio Code").

Extensions (Optional): VS Code is highly extensible, and you can enhance its functionality with various extensions. Some popular extensions for web development include "HTML CSS Support," "JavaScript (ES6) code snippets," "Prettier - Code formatter," and more. To install extensions, click on the Extensions icon in the left sidebar (four squares) or press Command+Shift+X, search for the extension, and click on the "Install" button.

Settings (Optional): You can customize various settings in VS Code to suit your preferences. To access settings, click on the gear icon in the bottom-left corner (Settings) or press Command+,. This will open the settings JSON file, where you can make modifications directly or use the GUI settings interface.

Integrated Terminal (Optional): VS Code comes with an integrated terminal that allows you to run commands directly within the editor. To open the integrated terminal, click on "View" in the top menu and then select "Terminal" from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut Control+~.

Version Control (Optional): VS Code has built-in support for version control systems like Git. If you have Git installed on your system, you can use the source control icon in the left sidebar (the Git icon) to manage your repositories and perform version control operations.
