Lecture 21:- CSS Position Property

The CSS position property is used to control the positioning of elements on a web page. It determines how an element is displayed in the document flow and how it interacts with other elements. The position property has several values, each affecting the positioning behavior of the element. The possible values for the position property are:

static: The default value for the position property. Elements with position: static are rendered in the normal document flow, and their position is determined by their order in the HTML and any CSS layout rules applied to them. Any top, right, bottom, or left properties have no effect.

relative: Elements with position: relative are still rendered in the normal document flow, but you can use the top, right, bottom, and left properties to offset the element's position relative to its normal position. The surrounding elements will not be affected by the offset.

absolute: Elements with position: absolute are removed from the normal document flow, and their position is based on the nearest positioned ancestor (an ancestor element with position set to anything other than static). If there is no positioned ancestor, the element's position will be relative to the document's initial containing block (usually the viewport). You can use the top, right, bottom, and left properties to precisely position the element.

fixed: Elements with position: fixed are also removed from the normal document flow and are positioned relative to the viewport. This means that even if the user scrolls, the element remains fixed in the same position on the screen. Like absolute, you can use the top, right, bottom, and left properties to position the element.

sticky: Elements with position: sticky behave like relative until they reach a specified offset from the top of the viewport. After that point, they become fixed and remain fixed at that position while scrolling.

Remember that the positioning behavior of an element depends on its parent elements and the elements surrounding it. Always consider the layout and the behavior of other elements when using the position property.
