Performing your first commit in a Git repository is an essential step to start tracking changes to your project. Here's a step-by-step guide to making your first commit:

Initialize a Git Repository: If you haven't already initialized a Git repository for your project, open your terminal or command prompt, navigate to the root folder of your project, and run the following command:

Add Files to the Staging Area: After making changes to your project files, you need to add them to the staging area to include them in the next commit. Use the following command to add all files in the current directory to the staging area:

If you only want to add specific files, replace the . with the names of the files you want to stage.

Commit Changes: Now that your files are staged, you can commit the changes with a descriptive message using the following command:

Replace "Your commit message here" with a short, meaningful message that describes the changes you made in this commit. The commit message helps you and others understand the purpose of the commit.

Verify Your Commit: After making the commit, Git will display some information about the commit, such as the commit hash, author, date, and the commit message. This confirms that your first commit was successful.
